Disposal of electrical equipment

Some of our products are electrical and electronic equipment, for example the LUXHORA wall clocks and our LED lights. Their disposal is governed by the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). This page provides the information required under Section 18(4) ElektroG.

Waste equipment does not belong in household waste

Crossed-out wheeled bin symbol

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on a device means that the waste device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. Residual waste bins and packaging bins must not be used for this.

Remove batteries and lamps first

Before handing in a device, please remove batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not permanently enclosed in it, as well as lamps that can be removed without being destroyed, and dispose of them separately. Retailers and municipal collection points take back used batteries free of charge. Lithium batteries can cause fires if damaged and must never be disposed of with household waste.

Where you can hand in waste equipment

  • Recycling centre: Public waste management authorities, usually the recycling centre of your town or municipality, accept waste equipment from private households free of charge.
  • At our workshop: You can return waste equipment from our range to us free of charge: von der Factory, Dahlweg 22, 48153 Münster, Germany. Please let us know in advance by email at info@vonderfactory.de.
  • Retailers in Germany: Retailers with at least 400 m² of sales area for electrical equipment, food retailers with at least 800 m² of sales area that regularly sell electrical equipment, and online retailers with at least 400 m² of storage and shipping area for electrical equipment take back waste equipment free of charge. When you buy a new device of the same type, they take back one old device; small devices up to 25 cm edge length (at most three per type) are taken back without a purchase.
